DCG: Digital Color Graphics strives to be a leader in green printing and reusable energy.
DCG is a registered member of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Green Business Initiative. Here are a few of DCG’s green initiatives:
Re-Usable Heat Energy: DCG recycles the heat energy from its IGen digital printer to heat the front office space.
Eco-Solvent Inks: DCG uses high quality, non-toxic, soluble inks, in our large format printing, that do not pollute the environment. These inks cost more but are well worth it for the future of our planet.
Reduction of Waste: DCG strives to group jobs together, especially in our large format printing, allowing us to continually reduce waste. DCG utilizes shorter digital print runs to ensure quality of products and decrease wasted overage.
Recycling: Waste occurs at all print facilities. DCG recycles literally tons of paper scraps per year. DCG also recycles ink jet and toner cartridges.
Conservation of Energy: To conserve energy and cost, DCG uses power save options on electronics and does not heat storage areas that employees do not occupy.
MISSION:
DCG: Digital Color Graphics is a leader in digital printing, large format printing and signage. DCG is consistently exploring and updating technology to improve the marketing needs of our diverse client base, this now includes QR Codes. We work to improve the response rates, retention, and overall profitability for our customers through innovative marketing and high-end graphics. Better response equals better Return on Investment (ROI). DCG is a green printer and works to make DCG a friendly and productive work environment.
HISTORY:
DCG started as a film service provider in 1994, originally called Publication Prepress, that supported printers of magazines and publications, the name changed to Diversified Communications Group, Inc. in 1996.
Chris Hutson purchased the company in 2002.
DCG made the transition from film/prepress to digital printing, large format printing and signage between 2001 – 2003.
In 2005 DCG moved 7 miles west of downtown Indianapolis to a larger facility. During the move DCG updated its digital press and large format equipment. The upgraded equipment significantly expanded DCG’s digital printing business.
DCG incorporated a DBA of DCG: Digital Color Graphics in 2006.
Since 2006 DCG has been committed to GREEN printing efforts – recycling, reducing and reusing in all areas of the company.
Starting in 2009 to the present DCG is proud to state that “We produce EVERYTHING!”
In 2010 DCG launched its new website with online ordering capabilities.
